Let the Swans Dance!
A trilogy of illustrations that comments on the current political situation in Russia, specifically how people living there feel. I took inspiration from the common phrase “Let the Swans Dance!” or “I want to see the Swan Lake again!”, which is a direct reference to the famous ballet, and the purpose it serves on TV. Following deaths of USSR’s leaders, national TV channels would play the Swan Lake ballet as an act of mourning. Nowadays people who openly wish to see the ballet say it as a rebellion against Putin’s regime, as it is believed the only way for it to end is to see him die.
